Pedro Pereirinha (moderador)

Paulo G. Pereirinha received the Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Coimbra, Portugal, in 2005. He is now Coordinator Professor with the Coimbra Institute of Engineering, Polytechnic of Coimbra. Teaching and research interests include electrical machines, electric vehicles, and electromechanical drives.
He was General Chair of the 2014 IEEE Vehicle Power and Propulsion Conference (VPPC) and is a Member of the Vehicular Power Propulsion Standing Advisory Committee of the IEEE VTS.
Paulo is a Senior Member of IEEE, is member of VTS, PES, Mag. Soc., IAS, TEC, and IES.
He is a Researcher with the Institute for Systems Engineering and Computers at Coimbra, INESC Coimbra and is co-founder and member of Executive Administration Board/Vice President of the Portuguese Electric Vehicle Association.
Paulo is President of the Portuguese Technical Committees CTE 69 (following IEC/TC 69 – Electric Road Vehicles and Electric Industrial Trucks) and CT 146 (following ISO/TC22/SC37 – Electrically Propelled Vehicles).
He is a Six-times Evaluator of proposals to the European Commission for FP7, Horizon 2020, and Horizon Europe related to electric vehicles and its components, and is author/co-author of more than 110 articles and papers in peer reviewed international journals/book chapters, and international conferences.
Since 2022, Paulo Pereirinha is the Chair of the IEEE VTS Portugal Chapter.

Daniel Galvão

Daniel Galvão é um engenheiro mecânico formado pela Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto em 2008. O seu percurso no mundo da engenharia iniciou-se durante o estágio curricular, no qual se dedicou à implementação do Total Productive Maintenance na Bosch Termotecnologia Aveiro, em 2008.
Ao longo da sua carreira profissional, Daniel demonstrou a sua experiência em diversas funções e localidades. Após a conclusão do estágio, expandiu as suas fronteiras ao implementar o TPM na Bosch Czech Republic em 2009. A sua jornada levou-o a desempenhar papéis-chave, como Manufacturing Engineer na Faurecia Czech Republic de 2009 a 2011, e posteriormente como Technical Specialist para a Faurecia na Alemanha de 2011 a 2015. Foi também destacado em diversas filiais da Faurecia, incluindo Roménia em 2012, Espanha em 2013 e novamente na República Checa em 2015.
A sua trajetória continuou na BorgWarner ETTS, onde atuou como Manufacturing & Quality Engineer de 2015 a 2020. Em 2021, Daniel assumiu o cargo de Global Manufacturing Engineer na BorgWarner PDS, evidenciando o seu crescimento e reconhecimento na indústria. Atualmente, a partir de 2022, ocupa a posição de Manufacturing Engineer Manager na mesma empresa, demonstrando a sua dedicação contínua ao aprimoramento e liderança no campo da engenharia.

Miguel Araújo
Mobinov

Miguel Araújo has been the Managing Director of Mobinov – automotive cluster (Portugal) since September 2023. He has a solid and diversified professional career spanning more than two decades and includes experience in various sectors, including banking, the private sector (industry and services), constitutional government and local administration. He has a degree in International Relations, a postgraduate qualification in Governance and Strategic Intelligence and a Master’s degree in Strategy. He is currently studying for a PhD in Administration Sciences. He has also taken part in executive training programmes at Uminho Exec in the “School of CEOs – sharp training for first-time CEOs” and has received training in Competitive Intelligence from the Academy of Competitive Intelligence.

Vítor Monteiro
U. Minho

Vítor Monteiro (SM, IEEE) received the Ph.D. degree in Power Electronics and Energy Systems in 2016, and the M.Sc. in Industrial Electronics and Computer Engineering in 2010, both from the University of Minho, Portugal. Currently, he is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Industrial Electronics, School of Engineering, University of Minho , Portugal. His research activity has been developed at the Group of Energy and Power Electronics (GEPE) of the Centro ALGORITMI, University of Minho, in the fields of industrial and power electronics. He is an IEEE Senior Member, Vice-Chair of the IEEE PES (Power & Energy Society) Portugal Section Chapter, and Member of IEEE IES, IEEE PELS, and IEEE PES.
